Classroom/Virtual Course
Ladder equipment is commonly used in construction, office, and industrial settings. Falls from ladders can occur either in the workplace or at home. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), each year in the US more than 100 people die and thousands more are injured from ladder-related falls. Ladder falls can arise by not selecting the correct ladder for the job, using a ladder improperly, using a faulty or defective ladder, and carelessness or horseplay on a ladder. In this course, we’ll discuss and review ladder safety and procedures including regulatory and legislative requirements, types of falls, types of ladders, ladder materials, and ladder hazards.
